Inspired by faith…

The past week of traveling has been
hard and long.  We have only been
settled for two days, yet I feel like we have been living in India for
weeks.  Today was our first day of
ministry, and it was very draining.
I am not blessed with public speaking, but I do believe God has blessed
me with the capacity to love.  It
was not religious spirituality that Jesus used during his life on earth, but it
was love and truth that were his main tools.

            Today
was our first day at the children’s home.
I was excited and joyful, even before I saw the children.  I could not wait to love them.  When we first entered the gates of the
home there were two girls farther back playing with some plastic toys.  I walked up to them and knelt down to
be closer to them.  I smiled and
waited for their attention to turn to the strange girl beside them.  They did not turn.  After a few moments I realized that
they were both blind.  So I made my
presence clear by speaking to them.
I asked their names and then repeated it to them to let them know that I
was near to them.  One girl latched
on to me right away and I, as well, fell instantly in love with her as well as
every other child I saw within those few minutes.  The young girl, although blind, had such joy and excitement.  She was anticipating life and she was
adventurous.  This little girl, who
had no vision of where she was or where she was going, still walked with joy
and hope of pure goodness.  I do
not know where I am or where I will be going, but I hope that I have the faith
that this young girl has.  I pray
that I can live in joy and excitement although I cannot see what it is that God
has planned for me.

            These
next few months that are days packed full are a mystery to what they will
bring.  I don’t know what it is
that God has in store for my life or for this team, but I do pray that although
we are blind to what the next second, minute, or day will bring, our team will
step forward in faith with every ounce of hope for goodness that will be
waiting for us.

Continue to pray for us and the people of Andhra Pradesh.

With love and faith,

Mina
