He is the Ultimate.

God is the ultimate.

Raising funds for this adventure, He was there. Giving me encouragement when I needed it the most, He was there. Loving on me when I felt alone, He was there. Protecting me when I was somewhere unsafe, He was there. When I needed energy, He was there. When I wanted to show love, He was there. Needing someone to talk to, He was there.

God is so many different things. He is always everywhere, always listening, and always wanting the best for His children.

A good friend recently showed me that living your life doesn't mean living it to please other people; it's about living your life to please God. To please the One that has invested in you first! Before you were born! God chose you to live the life you are living now. Out of the millon upon gazillion of people He could have chose to be in your situation (good or bad), He said, "Kortney would be the perfect child of mine for that. All of her qualitites and attributes would make her the best candidate for that situation, that life. I choose Kortney."

Alot of people stumble with pessimistic views towards God and why He would choose "them" for the worst situations that life could hold. In all honestly, it is hard to see why your Heavenly Father could have picked you! But I have a parable for you!

A father and his three children were assigned the task to clean two bathrooms. One was moderately dirty, and the other was filthy. The father, being the ultimate father, decided to go ahead and clean the dirtiest one himself, for he knew it was the most grueling. But he still needed a child to clean the other bathroom. Although it was not nearly as dirty, it still had fecal matter on the walls and some stench to it. Out of the three children, the father chose Samara. He knew that she was the only child who could persevere through it all without giving up halfway through. Although, she would need help from her father when she got to the fecal matter on the walls, he also knew that in the end she would be the most thankful that she did not have to clean the other stall! And the father was right in all his plans, she was thankful after and had learned a lot from that task. Cleaning awful bathrooms created this new intimate relationship among the father and daughter. And he was right all along, she was the perfect candidate for the job!

If life was meant to be selfish, we would never be able to afford groceries. We might have never gotten to see the moons and the stars. We would have never felt loved when the person infront of us at Tim Horton's didnt buy us our coffee. Life wasn't meant for selfishness. Life wasn't meant to revolve around you.

So stop acting like you are living for yourself and start realizing that kindness and love spreads like a wildfire. That doing things for others multiplies happiness exponentially! Energy is created through selfless acts.
Do not only acts like this towards your brothers and sisters, but more importantly to the one who pursued you first!

Praise God for all the things in your life. Seek God for all the events in your life. And love God for all of your life.
