I can’t believe that we have been here for over a month! I
feel like we have only just started what we came here to do, but God is amazing
in how he works and uses all things for His good, especially when we are
seeking and running after Him!
It is hard to think about how much time has passed and how
it feels like we have barely tapped the surface of the ways in which we can
serve India. I didn’t really know what to expect when we arrived. I honestly
wasn’t sure why God wanted me to come to India or what He wanted to teach me in
this experience. The only thing I knew was that He wanted me to get away with
Him this summer, He wanted my heart and my desires to be back where they should
be and I desired that as well. Praise God for His adventurous spirit and His
desire to bring me to India to accomplish it!
When we first arrived I spent time praying and asking God
what my goal was for this summer, what the purpose of me being here was and He
brought to my mind the verse in Philippians 3:14-16 which says
I
press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ
Jesus. Let those who are mature think this way and if in anything you think
otherwise, God reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have
attained.
I read this verse and thought . . .ok that sounds really
good but what is the goal?? Then God showed me the verse in 1 Timothy 1:5
The
aim (goal) of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good
conscience and a sincere faith.
I have been pushing towards empty impossible goals for a
long time, and it took me coming to India and God placing His desire on my
heart to tell others about the goals He has for them to make me realize I have
not been pursuing the goals He has for me! God’s goal for our lives is that we
become the person He desires us to be.
