Where Were You?

I wrote this blog about 2 Saturdays ago I think, but am just now getting a chance to post.   This blog is a bit different than probably most others that I’ll write. Then again, maybe not – perhaps things I witness will tug at my heartstrings more than something I actively experience.   Friday we had been eating lunch when Teresa called us, asking if we could come back to help shuttle and watch 40 kids from V-Colony (Victory House) that needed to go to the hospital to get shots. So we got there around 2:30 and helped out until about 8.   On our 2nd haul, I was sitting...

the curse…

spiritual oppression takes many different faces… …on one side, many different gods will not risk anything to save you from repeating the same mundane existence in a cycle of physical and spiritual poverty. …on the other side, the view of the God is based solely on fear and He cares more about eternal flames than relationships. Hinduism and Christianity have brought about mindset of fear and more importantly, shame. Shame is a spirit that locks people in a prison of torment and binds them so they cannot grasp their full potential. Due to Christianity’s inclination...

Jacob

It’s been 3 weeks. Well technically a month since I left. Wow! Every week goes by so fast. The days seem very long because we have a busy schedule, but Saturday seems to come around so fast! It’s crazy. Overall I’m enjoying myself. I’m loving living with my team. We fit so well together and I can’t thank God enough for that. The ministries are good, I enjoy going to the orphanages. In the evenings we usually do village outreach, which is pretty much a church service. They sing there songs then on of us speak for 10 or so minutes and it’s translated. The...

…way to go managod

I didn’t really have a subject to write about as i sat down to write but in India you never know when you will have internet so when you have the chance you take it. Before I could even pray and ask God what he wanted me to write about the Holy Spirit said Pastor K. Pastor Kituveajvnueifjao (just kidding, I don’t know his name that’s why we call him pastor K) is an Indian pastor whos church is in the same Building that we are staying in. He is, from what I understand, the head Pastor for ICM, an organization that has planted hundreds of churches all over Andhra Pradesh. He...

Incredible

Driving into Ongole on Sunday 31st was on of the most eye opening and overwhelming things ever. Wild dogs, trash all over the place, burn piles, heavy dust, buses that looks like sheet metal stapled together, so many people peeing on the road, crowded streets, families of 3 with luggage squeezed unto motorcycles and mopeds..these are only some of the devastating scenes of poverty that have crossed my sight. It’s so sad. “How can I ever change this much poverty? Impact this many people?” Thousands more questions running through my head as we passed through this strange but...

Training camp…

I’m sorry this is late but before we left i did not have enough time to get it up. so i will post it now and then the current one ok? ok. In my searching I found a path. This path to most people looks like an old jeep trail, cause really thats what it is, but to people like myself who over analyze things and read to far into EVERYTHING it is a metaphore. It stands for the journey that led me here to Georgia.  This path goes through thw woods where it it darker and cooler and yes i do realize this sounds unbelievably cliche, however,  this really spoke to my heart. This...
