There Is No Plan B.

Weight…   I feel heavy at the moment.  A good heavy.  Is there such a thing as a good heavy?    The weight of an opportunity. Oppression fills this place.   There is an opportunity to be active and to be willing to do whatever God asks.    We are God's plan for this earth.  We are the church. He created it this way. There is no plan B.   [ We are commanded to go into the nations share the Good News make disciples. ]    [ It wasn't a suggestion ] It was a command just...

Serving with a selfish heart

The purpose of going on this trip was for me to serve. Whether it was to serve the people in India or God, I was going to do it. When you think of the word serve, what comes to your mind. Do you picture yourself serving meals, people, countries, or God? I think I over analyze the word service too much. In my mind the word serving is doing something helpful to someone else, but the way I want to do it. And this is where it begins……. selfishness.      Let's go back to that first work day at the orphanage. I woke up ready to go and serve under...

He is the Ultimate.

God is the ultimate. Raising funds for this adventure, He was there. Giving me encouragement when I needed it the most, He was there. Loving on me when I felt alone, He was there. Protecting me when I was somewhere unsafe, He was there. When I needed energy, He was there. When I wanted to show love, He was there. Needing someone to talk to, He was there. God is so many different things. He is always everywhere, always listening, and always wanting the best for His children. A good friend recently showed me that living your life doesn't mean living it to please other people; it's...

My Father

Well it's been a more than a week since I've been in India, and the Lord has already started to do great things in my life and the lives of others. I was sitting outside the other day by myself thinking and praying and listening to anything God had to tell me. Sitting alone my mind started to wander and I began to think of home and my family, and I began to think a lot about my dad and how much I missed him. Then a memory came across my mind from when I was really little.    I can remember when my dad used to get home from work when I was young and I would be so...

Fireproof

Saturday night we went out to the beach about 30 minutes from where we are staying for a bonfire. One of the girls who lives in the apartment we are staying at chose to celebrate her birthday at the beach. So off we went with yummy Indian food, cake, party hats and all. We get there and although it is pitch black it is beautiful. You can hear the waves roaring and the amount of stars you could see was staggering. But as we were sitting there eating I was looking at the fire and I felt there was some how a spiritual parallel there. God has been doing that a lot this trip throwing things in...

L O V E

"Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us." John 4:11 Since I have been in India God has really layed on my heart just to love. To love others is to live in Christ. I have been praying a lot and asking God to give me love to pour into the people and children here. Loving people should be so easy, yet we make it so hard. The people here have already shown me love by how welcoming and generous they are. You will always see...
