A day in the life…

My mom emailed me the other day and asked what a typical day is like for us and I just had to laugh cause you just never know… But I thought some of our avid blog followers wink were wondering the same thing…what does serving in India look like? Well I'd be happy to tell you….

We wake up and eat breakfast have corporate worship and prayer time and get ready for the day. Then we roll out usually to SCH. Where we clean, love on kids, and do some administrative things (files, files, and more files)(which I have come to confirm I really love).

Lately we've been heading home for lunch due to the apparent peanut butter shortage in India and then we head on back to SCH to love on the kids (who btw have stolen our hearts). Then when they eat dinner we head home where I get the awesome opportunity to serve my team by cooking dinner! Have team feedback and prayer and then hit the sack.

Nothing too crazy but we're serving God and we love it. Everything no matter how menial it may seem to us or how insignificant we remember why we're doing it and praise God that he chose us to come do it.

Funny little side note I thought I'd share….Molly and I were at the chicken stand buying a chicken for dinner and she decided to play heads and tails with a rupee. So the man is slaughtering our chicken and here's Molly flipping a coin. So we play a few rounds (I won A LOT Molly still hasn't told me what I won) and then she flicks the coin into the hut, sliding on the table full of chicken guts and flys laying their maggot babies (Props to Kyla for the maggot babies image) and onto the floor also full of chicken guts. So the nice chicken man rinses his hands in bloody chicken water picks up the rupee and hands it back to Molly. It was hilarious….

PS <– this is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated….
