Coming to training camp I really just didn’t think I would like it. I honestly had no clue as to what we would be doing but my two pictures of how it would go were (1) sitting around a fire singing songs and holding hands, and (2) living in a cave and fighting bears. It was neither of those. However, it has definitely been an interesting experience. Looking back on everything now it feels like training camp was such a blur. One of my absolute favorite things that we did was build our own shelter (that we would be sleeping in for the night) and sitting around a campfire eating walking tacos and banana boats. Yes, it was uncomfortable; yes, I was eaten alive by bugs, but it was just such a fun thing for our team to do, and such a good way for us to quickly get to know each other. I have absolutely loved getting to meet my teammates and getting to know them. They are a group of incredible women and I am so excited about getting to spend the next two months with them. The Lord has really been working in my life over the past couple of days. I can genuinely say that my time in India will look a lot different than it would have had I not experienced the things that I did at training camp.
Though I have absolutely loved training camp I am beyond excited to get to India. I’m so excited about everything that the Lord is going to do in my life there and for how He’s going to use me. The only thing that I’m nervous about is the flight, I would just hate to crash into the ocean and be eaten by sea monsters or something. But other than that I am completely stoked to get to Andhra Pradesh and to begin making Jesus famous there.
